Colyer, H., Helme, M. & Jones, I. (2005) The Theory-Practice Relationship in Interprofessional Education, Higher Education Academy,Centre for Health Sciences, Occasional Paper 7

This is the fourth Occasional Paper published by the Centre for Health Sciences and Practice on the topic of interprofessional education, which has been given increasing attention over the last decade by practitioners, educators and government. The publication in itself is an example of the type of collaboration between the professions that underpins this approach. Until very recently most academics in Higher Education Institutions have been initiated into teaching through short, practical courses in teaching skills, but only those studying Education as a specific subject learned much about the underlying theories.
