CAIPE offers bespoke workshops and consultancy to organisations nationally and internationally wishing to develop or enhance interprofessional education (IPE) and collaborative practice.
As a national and international authoritative voice on interprofessional education and collaborative practice in both universities and in the workplace across health and social care and beyond, CAIPE claims special expertise founded on its members, its publications and its development activities.
WORKSHOPS
We offer interactive participatory workshops that are designed to suit your organisation’s needs. These can be held in person or online via Zoom.
Four Examples of Previous Workshops:
Workshop 1 - Introducing Interprofessional Education within your organisation- Ideas, Instruction, Infrastructure
The aims of this workshop are to understand the structures and processes required to develop interprofessional education (IPE) within organisational contexts. Participants will develop the skills, knowledge and confidence required to develop strategies that embed IPE and Interprofessional collaborative practices within an organisation.
Topics covered include:
- Processes for developing organisational IPE
- Structures to ensure quality and sustainability
- Development of a strategic plan
- Practical solutions to interprofessional challenges
By the end of the workshop you will have developed a strategic plan to develop and embed IPE within your own context.
The workshop will enable an exchange of knowledge, experiences and ideas about the sustainability of quality interprofessional experiences.
Workshop 2 - Interprofessional Education- Definitions, Dilemmas, Directions
The aims of this workshop are to understand the background and history of interprofessional education (IPE) and requirement for IPE in current health and social care settings. Participants will develop the skills, knowledge and confidence required to work interprofessionally, collaborating with different disciplines for the enhancement of person centred care.
Learning with, from and about each other to implement effective interprofessional experiences will enable participants to develop understanding trust and respect for each other.
Topics covered include:
- Definitions of interprofessional education
- Why it is needed in current complex health and social care
- Different methods for the development of skills
- Development of an action plan
- Practical solutions to interprofessional challenges
By the end of the workshop you will have developed an action plan to become more interprofessional within your own context.
The workshop will enable an exchange of knowledge, experiences and ideas about the sustainability of quality interprofessional experiences.
Workshop 3 - Developing Quality Facilitators: Tools, Tips and Techniques
The aims of this workshop are to build and enhance quality facilitators with the skills, knowledge and confidence required to implement effective interprofessional experiences and to enable the development of a sustainable interprofessional facilitation infrastructure within your context.
Topics covered include:
- An introduction to mixed group facilitation
- The qualities and traits of a confident facilitator
- Developing a toolkit
- Different training strategies
- Developing a training plan for your organisation and motivational skills
By the end of the workshop you will have developed a plan and the materials for mixed group facilitation training within your own context.
The workshop will enable an exchange of knowledge, experiences and ideas about the sustainability of quality interprofessional experiences.
Workshop 4 - Supporting Educators and Practitioners in developing and delivering Interprofessional Education for integrated care incorporating Values Based Practice
The aims of this workshop are to define Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice (IPECP) for Integrated Care, incorporating principles of values-based practice. Current UK policy aims to deliver a person-centred whole system approach to care across sector boundaries through integration of health and social care. Interpersonal and interprofessional relationships and are at the heart of such a transformation.
The workshop provides background evidence of effectiveness, describe underpinning theory, and provide practical guidance on planning and implementing IPE within existing education or as a freestanding academic event. Participants will gain knowledge and skills for designing and delivering IPE for groups of preregistration learners or professionals who will need to work collaboratively in integrated health and social care services.
The workshop is based on the Interprofessional Education Handbook by Richard Gray and Jenny Ford which provides practical guidance on designing and delivering values based IPE.

By the end of the workshop participants will be able to apply their learning to planning interactive learning activities which meet the interprofessional needs of all participants, address different learning styles and cultures and can be embedded in their own contexts.

Our charges for workshops are as follows (10% discount for CAIPE corporate members):
Face To Face Workshops (delivered by two facilitators to a maximum of 25 delegates):
- Full Day Face to Face (09.30-16.30) £4000.00
- Half Day Face to Face (Three hours maximum) £2000.00
Zoom Workshops (delivered by two facilitators to a maximum of 50 delegates):
- Four Week Delivery on Zoom (09.30-16.30) £4000.00
- Two Week Delivery on Zoom (Three hours maximum) £2000.00
